DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF MICROSPONGE GEL OF AN ANTIFUNGAL DRUG

Objective: The objective of the present study was to compare release effect Luliconazole from different polymeric (Hydrophilic and Hydrophobic) microsponges prepared using varying concentrations. best microsponge selected incorporated into gel (Natural synthetic) drug is determined compared with marketed formulation.
 Methods: Polymers such as EC, HPMC, Eudragit RSPO PVA emulsifier, solvent DCM used solvent. Microsponge were by quasi emulsion diffusion technique. FTIR studied estimate incompatibility. Microsponges evaluated for SEM, particle size, content, In vitro studies. Optimized (flax seed Aerosil gel) pH, spreadability, extrudability, content in studies.
 Results: Theresults obtainedshowed no physical-chemical incompatibility between polymers. HPMC EC combination found be a suitable polymer other preparation microsponge. From evaluation microsponge, optimized F1 formulations seeds, aerosil) formulation which MG-I considered good topical anti-fungal based on there physical parameters kinetics.
